Capuano only took in $300,000 first reporting period- His big figure represents the cash that was just sitting in his federal campaign fund at the time $1.1m. It's very unfair to count that as "raised" money. That means he had no place to go but up. Martha started with $0 - most of her contributions came from MA residents- you can only get so much from the folks instate. Mike has all those Washington people and those he helped in MA- Coakley is not stalling at all even though that might be wishful thinking. When you start with over a million ahead of the other guy, the playing field is not quite level.

Capuano is definitely seeing more momentum, and he should given that he is doing many more events than other candidates, getting big endorsements, and genuinely fighting for it.

Coakley is stalling because she is doing the classic frontrunner tactic of cruising.

I think she will still win, but it will definitely not be a 30-point margin or whatever nonsense the early polls say.
