NEADS Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans, headquartered in Princeton, Massachusetts, trains dogs to assist people who are deaf or physically disabled in leading more independent lives. NEADS launched the Canine for Combat Veterans program in order to provide service dogs to wounded veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. As part of the training process, service dogs visit environments like workplaces to be further socialized and acclimatized.
Service dogs in training will partner with Coakley and campaign staff for the day.
According to the NEADS website:
Six or more dogs will come to your office with their trainers and, after a short human education session, will go off to spend the day happily meeting co-workers and practicing "down" under your desk. The Dogs at your Desk program helps to familiarize the dogs in training with the sights and sounds of a busy corporate environment, including elevators, fax machines, lots of noise, and people during lunch in the cafeteria.I imagine it won't be good day to be an intern (better get those scoopers ready!), but it sounds like a pretty cool program, and it's to help those who were wounded in defense of all of us. Kudos to the Coakley camp.

Cue Scott Brown issuing a press release complaining about Coakley spending time on this instead of going to a VA or something.
